Senior Associate, Moore Ruble Yudell Architects & Planners

  • When did you first realize you wanted to become an architect?
I’ve always had a passion for design, colors, and materials but it was in high school interior design & drafting classes that I realized I wanted to become an architect.
  • Who has inspired you and/or influenced your career the most? And how?
I have been most inspired by my father who has encouraged me to do anything and be whatever I wanted to be. He has been and continues to be my #1 cheerleader.
  • What are your recommendations for increasing diversity in the workplace and within the design process particularly?
My top recommendation for increasing diversity in the workplace is to excel beyond expectations. By proving oneself individually, you help build rapport for other women/ minorities. Changing reputations happen one opinion at a time.
  • As a woman, what are your thoughts on the Los Angeles region as a place to work?
LA is an incredible place to work, particularly as a minority (personally as a woman). It truly is a melting pot of culture and is heavily connected to the world. I have no doubt I wouldn’t have the same opportunities to travel and work internationally if I lived in another city.
