Leigh Christy, AIA
Associate Principal - Perkins+Will

Leigh Christy is an Associate Principal at Perkins+Will. She is on the firm-wide Executive Committee, a member of the Perkins+Will Green Team and Resiliency Task Force, the head of the firm’s Innovation Incubator microgrant program, and the leader of the Los Angeles Office Social Responsibility Committee. Leigh’s public and private sector experience encompasses management, design and technical realms at a variety of scales, offering her a perspective on projects that is both comprehensive and forward-looking. She specializes in providing innovative, sustainable and socially responsible project solutions that meet the client’s needs. Leigh’s project work has been honored with numerous national and regional design awards and has been featured in publications including Architecture, Architectural Record, World Architecture News, Interior Design and Contract Design. In 2010, Leigh was named as one of Building Design + Construction’s “40 under 40” honorees and in 2011 was featured in Architect magazine for her pro bono and Los Angeles River Revitalization work at Perkins+Will.

Leigh grew up in the rust belt, just outside of Akron, Ohio. She received a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from the University of Michigan and a Master of Architecture from the University of California, Berkeley. She has been an adjunct faculty member of Woodbury University since 2008 and also an architectural design juror at Woodbury University, Southern California Institute of Architecture (SCI-Arc), University of Southern California and UC Berkeley among others. Using both research and project work as a basis, Leigh frequently publishes articles and presents on issues dealing with social and environmental sustainability at all scales
