Principal Urban Designer & Architect, CITYWORKS DESIGN

Lisa Padilla, AIA, LEED AP brings significant experience in urban design and architecture and has been providing creative leadership on public projects for over 25 years. Prior to launching Cityworks Design in 2006, she worked for national practices in San Francisco and Los Angeles where she gained experience in the design and management of a variety of urban, public, commercial, residential and retail projects. She has contributed to the design and implementation of several major Los Angeles projects including the award-winning redesign of West Hollywood’s Santa Monica Boulevard, and Exposition Light Rail Transit Corridor, working for L.A. County Metro and the City of Santa Monica during various phases to develop creative architecture and urban design solutions. As principal of Cityworks Design, she recently led a team who worked closely with communities surrounding Los Angeles Union Station on the ConnectUS Action Plan -- a vision for making it better to walk and bike to both Union Station and the future 1st/Central Regional Connector Station. She recently completed the Tropico Center TOD Plan for the City of Glendale, and has contributed to general plans and specific plans in Long Beach and Pasadena. She is collaborating on a Specific Plan for Southeast Long Beach, and several new transit projects for L.A. County Metro. As a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) Lisa served as a juror for the National AIA Institute Honor Awards for Regional and Urban Design, and on the AIA National Steering Committee for Regional Urban Design. She has served as a National Peer Reviewer for the GSA’s Design Excellence Program and speaks regularly at national conferences on cities, community collaboration and transit.
