This month, the AIA|LA Healthcare Committee will have a presentation on "The Change-Ready Clinic" by Dr. Adeleh Nejati.

-Understand the drivers of change, and responding trends, in clinic design

-Assess facility implications of the responses to these trends

-Identify innovations and evidence support through literature searches and case studies; sift the shiny from the sustainable

-Develop framework for a change-ready clinic - via the filter of what patients and physicians want in a nationwide survey

-Create change-ready Principles for design

Dr. Adeleh Nejati is a recent Ph.D. graduate from the Center for Health Systems & Design at Texas A&M University. She did her doctoral dissertation on “Restorative Design Features for Hospital Staff Break Areas” which was recently awarded as the Best Ph.D. Research Project by the International Academy for Design and Health. She has also received the Joel Polsky Academic Achievement Award and Joel Polsky Prize from the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) for her outstanding doctoral dissertation on design and wellbeing. Adeleh is currently working with HKS Health and CADRE as a healthcare architect and design researcher to focus on integrating research into practice of healthcare architecture.
