About "Selma Community Housing" designed by Abode Communities|Architecture
Selma Community Housing is an award-winning LEED® for Homes Platinum-rated affordable housing community that exemplifies how private land can be maximized for public benefit. Situated in the heart of Hollywood on surplus land owned by Los Angeles Unified School District, this 66-unit innovative model joint-use development was built in an effort to improve access to affordable housing, promote employee retention, and balance life/work for families and working-wage L.A. Unified employees earning between 30% - 60% Area Median Income (AMI).
Located just blocks from the Hollywood & Highland Metro Red Line Station, this transit-rich affordable housing development combines 67 residential parking spaces with 50 public parking spaces that serve the adjacent Selma Elementary School by day and the public by night via paid parking operated by the District.

About Step Up on Vine designed by Egan | Simon Architecture
Step Up provides permanent supportive housing, vocational training and placement, and member-driven supportive services. Step Up on Vine is a forty-three (43) unit permanent supportive housing community for individuals experiencing homelessness and mental health issues. Thirty-five (35) of the efficiency apartments are Shelter Plus Care units subsidized by the Los Angeles County Housing Authority and designated for individuals experiencing homelessness and mental health issues. Six (6) of the units are designated for low income individuals with mental health issues.
Each efficiency unit is fully furnished and equipped and has a private bathroom. Supportive services offered at Step Up on Vine include meals, vocational opportunities, a rooftop garden, member-lead groups for social connectedness, wellness, and reaching self-determined goals. There are tenant community rooms on each floor, outside gathering areas, and ground floor community and social service space. There are two Resident Managers living at Step Up On Vine helping put the "support" in permanent supportive housing. Recovery is possible!
