Announcing the 2013 Faculty Winner of 2x8 Student Exhibition Design Competition

After numerous responses to the request for proposals that went out earlier this year, AIA|LA is proud to announce that UCLA lecturer, Julia Koerner's project, "Cellular Complexity", in Collaboration with Marie Boltenstern and Kais Al-Rawi, is the winning entry for the 11 year anniversary of the 2x8 Student Exhibition. The jury was very impressed with their proposal and presentation, stating that the concept was creative and edgy.

The 2x8 Student Exhibition has featured the works of over 150 students from over 15 architecture and design schools in California, raising more than $100,000 since its inception ten years ago; students participating in 2x8 have reaped the benefits of being a part of such a prestigious competition.

Korerner's design is scheduled to debut in early 2014, exhibiting student work.
